Veita J. Bland, M.D.

About Dr. Bland

Dr. Veita J. Bland is a Clinical Hypertension Specialist in private practice in Greensboro, NC. She is a strong advocate for aggressive hypertension management and improving community health. Passionate about teaching and clinical research, she mentors medical students and contributes to advancing medical knowledge. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Bland is a frequent speaker on hypertension and lipid disorders, hosts a weekly radio call-in program on health topics, and writes a weekly health column.

Education

Dr. Bland earned her medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She then completed her residency at the University of Maryland, where she received comprehensive training in Family Medicine. She is Board Certified in Family Medicine and recognized as a Clinical Hypertension Specialist.

Dr. Bland currently serves as an Affiliate Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at East Carolina University, Greenville, NC. Through her academic and community involvement, she continues to promote preventive care and cardiovascular health across the region.

About Dr. Hill

Dr. Gerald Hill graduated from East Carolina Brody School of Medicine and completed his residency at Eastern Virginia Medical School. His passion lies in the teaching of medical students and the aggressive treatment of the diseases that affect our geriatric community. Dr. Hill joined Bland Clinic, PA in 2007 after practicing 18 years in Reidsville, NC where he served as former Chief of Staff and former Chairman of the Department of Medicine and Annie Penn Memorial Hospital.

About Anjanette Miles Thompson

Anjanette Miles Thompson, FNP, is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner at Bland Clinic, P.A., dedicated to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care to individuals and families in Greensboro, North Carolina. She brings over 15 years of clinical expertise and a genuine commitment to improving the health and well-being of her patients.

Education

Anjanette graduated with honors from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She later earned her Master’s Degree in Family Nurse Practitioner Studies from Averett University in Danville, Virginia, also graduating with honors. Her strong academic background supports her holistic and evidence-based approach to care.

With more than 15 years of nursing experience, Anjanette has worked across a variety of specialties, including Cardiology, Nephrology, Infectious Disease, and Public Health. This diverse background allows her to provide comprehensive, well-rounded care to patients of all ages and health needs.

Anjanette is an active member of the American Nursing Association, the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, and the Greensboro Region Nurse Practitioners. Beyond her clinical work, she is deeply involved in community service — serving as the Founder of Leah’s House and as a member of L.O.A.T., a philanthropic group dedicated to uplifting and supporting local communities.
